Is there a version of MultiMarkdown Composer for iOS?

Currently, there is not a public version of Composer for iOS. There is a private beta that contained the code that went on to become Composer 2 for OS X. During the process of developing the iOS version, it was clear that the Mac version needed to be improved first. That process lead to further improvements in the code (most of the core engine is shared between the Mac and iOS versions).

As of October 2013, most of the pieces from Apple I wanted to see appear to have arrived. This should allow me to bring parity between the two systems in terms of core features.

In the nine months since Composer 2.0 was released, there have been many improvements and bug fixes. It feels as though things are beginning to "stabilize", and I hope to be able to return my attention to the iOS version. That said, there are still a few really interesting experiments I am working on for further improvements to the Mac version, and a few features that will really only make sense once both versions are available.

I can't promise a timeline, but here's what I can say:

  • My first priority is to ensure that currently shipping software is maintained and bugs/issues are fixed as they come in.

  • Since there's a shared code base, keeping Mac code bug free helps improve the iOS code automatically.

  • The beta version of Composer for iOS no longer suits my needs. I need something better. And if I need something, I'm much more likely to devote the time it takes to make it happen. ;)

  • Some of the cool experimental stuff I'm working on will be much cooler when I get iOS back on track. That also helps to get me more interested in bringing the new projects online.

Hopefully this helps explain where things stand and where things are going. Yes, I intend to create a public version of Composer for iOS, but I have no idea how long it will take.

Thanks, as always, for all of your support!
