Appearance Preferences

The Appearance preference pane allows you to configure appearance behavior for MultiMarkdown Composer.

  • Default Theme -- Specify the Theme that should be used for new documents.

  • Open Themes Folder -- Open the folder in your Library that stores your custom Themes.

  • More Themes -- Go to support web page where users can share additional Themes.

  • Reset Themes -- Remove copies of built-in Themes from the Themes Folder so that the original versions will be used. Be sure to back up any changes that are important to you.

  • Default Font -- Choose a default font/size for the editor pane. NOTE: Some Themes override the default settings, in which case this preference would be ignored.

  • Text Alignment -- Choose a default text alignment for the editor pane. NOTE: Some Themes override the default settings, in which case this preference would be ignored.

  • Maximum Full Screen Width -- Choose a maximum width in pixels for the window in full screen view -- useful for high resolution monitors. NOTE: Some Themes override the default settings, in which case this preference would be ignored.

  • Left/Right padding around text -- Choose size in pixels for whitespace to left/right of text in editor pane. NOTE: Some Themes override the default settings, in which case this preference would be ignored.

  • Top/Bottom padding around text -- Choose size in pixels for whitespace above/below text in editor pane. NOTE: Some Themes override the default settings, in which case this preference would be ignored.

  • Line Height -- Adjust line spacing for editor pane (1.0 = single space, 2.0 = double space, etc.). NOTE: Some Themes override the default settings, in which case this preference would be ignored.

  • Maximum Line Length (Characters) -- Choose size in characters for the maximum length of line text in the editor pane. NOTE: Some Themes override the default settings, in which case this preference would be ignored.

  • Typewriter Height -- Choose size (between 0.0 and 1.0) for aligning the current line of text in the editor pane. 0.5 keeps the current line in the middle. NOTE: Some Themes override the default settings, in which case this preference would be ignored.

  • Sidebar Theme -- Choose a color scheme for sidebars. Used for new windows. Yosemite Light/Dark use default macOS color schemes with a translucent effect. Aqua uses the older opaque macOS scheme. "Use Theme" uses the colors from your Composer Theme so match the sidebar to the editor pane.
