1 Smart Quote + 1 Dumb Quote
I have smart quotes turned on in MMC 4.5.12, on OS X 10.14.6. When no text is selected it works as expected. However, when text is selected the opening quote is converted to curled, but the closing quote remains straight: like “this". I've tried hitting the spacebar after the closing quote (’cause in some other software somewhere that worked for some reason), but that has no effect. It has been this way since I installed MMC4. Smart quotes work seamlessly in all other software on this computer.
Any ideas?

macOS converts quotes to smart quotes, not Composer. In this instance,
you type a single quote, so macOS "smartens" a single quote. macOS is
unaware that Composer automatically inserts a closing quote as well, so
it doesn't convert the second quote automatically.
