It seems the Metadat is not processing properly. 4.0b 26

If I run cleanup METADATA nothing happens. It is still dispalyed in the preview. v21 was ok.

Not sure what you mean? Everything looks good with your text for me.
Cleaning up metadata with your metadata selected works fine for me. It
standardizes the whitespace properly.
And what do you mean about it showing up in the preview?
Can you send the actual file you're using?

B26 on OSX 10.12.6.
I can confirm what Fletcher saw. I copied the text as shown into a file I'm working on, ran cleanup which worked (it standardized the spacing), and neither before or after the cleanup did the metadata show up in the Preview. I saved and re-opened the file, still didn't show in Preview.

Problem solved. I had activated the markdown compatibility in the preferences.

Are you sure you didn't disable MultiMarkdown? Markdown doesn't have metadata.

If you check the "Mardown Compatibility Mode" settings it does not handle the meta data. So I unchecked it and all is good.
