I can't get the Preview Pane to change theme
It is just white whatever I do. Ideally I would like to change it to the Pretentious green on black old skool look. Advice gratefully received.

Have you used the "Preview CSS" Menu? The theme is for the editor pane,
not the preview pane.
I don't have a CSS for the Green/Black (like White Rabbit for the
editor). But it would be easy for you to create CSS that set the
background to black and text to green.

If I may be permitted to ask you a general question:
Is Markdown Composer aimed only at those with HTML and CSS at their disposal?
Many thanks

Not at all. But the preview is only useful for HTML -- other export
formats don't lend themselves to live updating. For example, LaTeX
takes several seconds to create a PDF, which isn't anywhere near fast
enough.
That said, the preview shows you how MMD will be interpreted, whether
the final result is converted to HTML, LaTeX, or other formats.
