<p>I was recently working on an old laptop I was resurrecting for
temporary use, and noticed in one of my markdown-savvy text editors
when I started a new document it asked me if I wanted to create a
markdown document or a fountain document.</p>
<p>At the time, not knowing what fountain was, I selected markdown
and proceeded.</p>
<p>That laptop has since bit the dust, and I don't recall what the
app was I was using. I've been using MultiMarkdown Composer because
of its support for CriticMarkup (AWESOME!! THANKS!!) and thought
that maybe it was the app that supported Fountain, but it appears
not to be the case.</p>
<p>I was wondering if there are any plans to support fountain
markup in addition to multimarkdown/markdown. Fountain in
combination with CriticMarkup would be a deadly combination if it
could be made to work...</p>
<p>If there are no current plans, I would like to submit a feature
request to do so.</p>
<p>Thanks!</p></div>fredtag:support.multimarkdown.com,2013-02-12:Comment/399176012016-05-19T22:38:57Z2016-05-19T22:38:57ZDoes / will MMC support Fountain?<div><p>MultiMarkdown Composer, as the name suggests, is for MMD.
Fountain is<br>
an entirely different language -- it would require entirely
different<br>
parsing and smart editing support.</p>
<p>I'm intrigued by Fountain (I actually wrote a simply markup
-><br>
screenplay format tool about 15 years ago that was very similar to
what<br>
the Fountain folks ended up doing later).</p>
<p>I've had a couple of requests for Fountain support, but I'm not
sure<br>
there's enough interest to justify the work. If I did anything,<br>
however, it would be a separate app as most of the parts would not
be<br>
cross-compatible.</p>
<p>That said, I imagine it would end up behaving just like you
would expect<br>
a Fountain editor made by me to work.</p>
<p>Feel free to stir up interest among any other screenwriters you
know.<br>
Maybe I could get talked into it one day.</p>

right into the name.</p>
<p>I hope your Fountain curiosity continues to be tickled, as I'm
sure a Fountain app written by you would be every bit as slick and
professional as MMC.</p>
<p>In particular, I am surprised that none of the existing editors
that support Fountain also support CriticMarkup. Really surprised,
as scripts undergo endless revisions. Should you decide to dip your
toes into those waters, I hope you would bake that in from the very
start.</p>
<p>I'll see if I can raise any interest elsewhere, but organizing
writers is even worse than herding cats. I'm surprised the WGA even
exists...</p>
<p>Thanks for getting back to me.</p>
<p>Cheers!</p></div>fred
