where are installation instructions please
hi. i have been using composer for a while, and i wish to upgrade to the 2.6.1.
Where are any installation instructions?
I downloaded it. but it just unzipped it in ~/Downloads. there
is no readme to explain where to put it, or how to configure it, or
how to replace the old version. There seems to be no config/make or
other script to install it.
and the website has nothing, not a link in the announcement, or
anything on the support site.
I really don't want to run it from ~/Downloads.
So? I don't get it. Is this obvious and I'm missing it?
Thanks.

Thanks for writing in.
The ReadMe file included in the 2.6.1 download includes instructions on how to get it to run. (As a note — if you haven’t run the non-sandboxed version before, and currently have 2.6.2 installed from the App Store, you’ll have to wait for 2.6.2 to be released in non-sandboxed form for it to run. That’s coming soon.)
As is standard for all Mac applications, the application can be stored and run from wherever you want. Mac applications don’t need an installer/make script/etc. The only reason for those is if you need to install something besides the application.
