Could not open when closed
I have this weird problem. When I edit a file and close it, I can't force MultiMarkdown to open up again to create a new file. To achieve this I need to quit the app and start it again. That may be inconvenient for someone using mmd composer as their main editor.
Thanks!

That is weird....
1. What version of Composer are you running?
2. What version of OS X are you using?
3. Any strange messages in the Console application around the time of you problem?

1. 2.6 (45) (non-sandboxed version) (I checked this behaviour also on
AppStore version 2.5.3 - and it's the same)
2. Mavericks 10.9
3. After several repeats I got this:
06.12.2013 23:29:39,211 MultiMarkdown Composer[4883]: open on
/Users/maciej/Library/Application Support/MultiMarkdown Composer/receipt:
File exists
06.12.2013 23:29:45,788 MultiMarkdown Composer[4892]: open on
/Users/maciej/Library/Application Support/MultiMarkdown Composer/receipt:
File exists
06.12.2013 23:29:46,915 WindowServer[91]: disable_update_timeout: UI
updates were forcibly disabled by application "MultiMarkdown Composer" for
over 1.00 seconds. Server has re-enabled them.
06.12.2013 23:29:47,060 WindowServer[91]: common_reenable_update: UI
updates were finally reenabled by application "MultiMarkdown Composer"
after 1.15 seconds (server forcibly re-enabled them after 1.00 seconds)
It is even more strange. Here's what I exactly do:
- I open MMD-Composer and a new Untitled file is open
- I close the window (CMD-W)
- I still have MMD in Dock
- I click on MMD in Dock - seemingly nothing happens, BUT
- menu bar changes to MMD
- I can quit the app or open a new or existing file
I suppose that a regular behaviour should be to open the window with a new
Untitled file. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
Thanks for your help (and taking this opportunity: thanks for MultiMarkdown
in general - it completely changed the way I work with my research and
writing).
Maciej

I'm not sure I'm following you.
After closing the Untitled window, what do you expect to happen when you click on the Dock? Nothing should happen, except that the application should come to the foreground. It sounds as though that is happening since the Menu Bar changes.
What happens when you use the menu bar? You say that, "I can quit the app or open a new or existing file." That sounds like everything is working properly, unless you meant to type, "I can't quit….".

I expect behaviour like in other apps. After I close a file in Byword or
TextEdit and then click on the app in the dock, I get a prompt to open or
create a new file. But when I do that with MMD, I see nothing (at first
sight) - no new file, no prompt, only MMD menu bar (see attachment - this
is what I see after I close a file and click on MMD).
It is not a major bug, but it's something one would not expect (actually I
realized that the menu bar is active after several tries, at first I
thought that nothing happens and that I have to quit the app to create a
new file). Now I'm ok with this, but I think other users may think
something's broken just as I did.

Glad everything's working properly then.
And actually, you're the first to write that you prefer the other behavior. Multiple people wrote in to request this behavior.
