As soon as any character is entered into the "changes" HUD, the HUD itself goes blank, and does not show any of the critic markup changes. This behavior persisted after quit and restart. System.log doesn't show anything that seems relevant, though there is some weird interaction between MMD composer and Beam.app (happy to send the log if you're interested).
