crashes and rendering issues (2.5b, 2.4.3)
Seen in 2.5b and 2.4.3
This attached MD file has poor rendering and crashes frequently when I am editing the document. I think it might be the combination of unicode pasting and subscripts. _Something_ is confusing the editor. I tried upgrading to see if there were hidden bug-fixes in there but the newer version seems to do worse with the file.

I agree that it's related to the unicode in the metadata (at least partially), but I thought that particular issue was fixed.
I'll keep digging through this --- it might take me a bit of time though. I was able to get it to crash once, but not consistently. This makes it trickier to sort out.
Thanks for sending the example file.

Just an update -- I haven't had a chance to find the solution to this. I *think* I know where to look, but haven't found the problem yet.
I will be releasing 2.4.6 soon (tonight??) that fixes other things, but probably won't fix this particular problem. But I haven't forgotten about it, and will continue to dig around. It's just a bit tricky to solve so far.

Heh... "Team".....
Nope - it's just me and my spare time away from my day job. Glad to know you enjoy the app, and I'd say this bug has a really high chance of being squashed soon because it annoys me that a problem I thought was fixed isn't..... :)
Thanks for your patience and understanding!

I dug into this some more and found the following:
1) I'm not crazy. The presumed problem, ability to handle normal multibyte characters such as `ü`, was solved and still seems to work just fine.
2) The document you sent has something strange going on. If you look at the line spacing, you'll notice that there is extra space above the lines containing `extra5` and `extra6`, and others. If you open the document in TextWrangler, and use the right arrow key to move one character at a time across the extra5 line, when you the alpha, Beta, etc. characters --- some of them cause the cursor to move right, then left, then right again. I think the characters were pasted improperly. They might be UTF-16 or UTF-32 characters pasted into a UTF-8 document, for example?
3) If I make a simple example using your alpha character, the problem persists. If I use the OS X Character Viewer and replace it with a "regular" alpha character, it works just fine.
Given all this, I think the problem is with the document itself and not Composer. I think there's something strange about the way the characters were pasted into the document (did they come from Microsoft Word by chance?) I suspect if you clean the document up with proper characters, it will work just fine.
