can't save document in MMD Composer 2.4.2

1) I compose a simple text
2) I try to save the text as a .md file or opml)
3) I get "The document "NAMEOFFILE" cannot be saved
4) Can't save to local file system or iCloud
Any suggestions?

   I'll follow up with a few more questions when I have more time, but until
   then download the nonsandboxed version from the website.

   The version from the website will save. So the problem seems to be with the AppStore version.
