Can't save?
I just bought a copy of MultiMarkdown Composer from the app store. Looks pretty good except for one problem: I can't save my files. I can't save them on my local system, and it doesn't appear to have access teo iCloud either.

Thanks for buying, but sorry you're having trouble. Can you tell me more about what happens when you can't save? That's strange.
Any error message?
Any messages in Console?
Have you tried the version from the web site to see if that works for you?
If you can get me more information, I can try to see what's going on (even if the non-sandboxed version works, I would like to see what is causing the problem with the App Store version on your machine.)
Hope this helps!!

Hey, Fletcher, thanks. I'm at the day job where I'm using a scruffy old
Linux machine, so I can't check until tonight, but the error was basically
that I would try to save a file and get a message close to "attempting to
save file failed."
On the iCloud thing, I couldn't quite figure out how to save to the iCloud
either. (I'd really rather use Dropbox anyway, for various reasons, but I
thought I'd at least try it.)
It behaved exactly as if it didn't have write permission.
I'll give it a more detailed try tonight.

Let me know what you see. I had a problem on one of my test machines when using QuickCursor that I haven't dug into, and maybe it's the same issue. I haven't had trouble on my other machines (and just upgraded to latest version to be sure).
BTW - you're not on Mavericks are you?
Thanks for letting me know about the trouble you're having!

Uh, Mavericks?
Okay, I got the download version and it appears to save just fine. Here's
what the console has. I installed the download version at just about
exactly 20:00. I'm also attaching some screen shots. It seems to be some
weird perms probleml I'm not enough of a mac guru to say what.

Mavericks is OS 10.9, currently in developer preview. I'm guessing you're not using it then... ;)
Have you tried Disk Utility -> Repair permissions to see if that fixes the issue with the App Store version of Composer? If there's a permission issue, then sandboxing might prevent Composer from writing to your disk.

Haven't, but I will. No, I spend my day job kernel hacking linux, I tend to
not try to hack at home.

Looks like I'm having the same problem as here. Sorry for the duplicate thread.

Yeah, I'm away at the day job. Fletcher suggested running disk utility to
repair permissions, I haven't been able to try it yet.
9 Posted by Mike Sears on 31 Jul, 2013 10:01 PM
I did run the Disk Utility and it made no difference.
10 Posted by chasrmartin on 31 Jul, 2013 10:07 PM
Rats. Well, it'll run for me if I use the downloaded version, but of
course that can't see iCloud.
11 Posted by Mike Sears on 31 Jul, 2013 10:11 PM
And it's fantastic with the cloud.
Support Staff 12 Posted by Fletcher on 31 Jul, 2013 11:32 PM
OK. I dug into this, and turns out it's not a permissions problem. It's a problem with a nested if/else logic structure.
Should be fixed for next release.
Thanks for pointing this out, and sorry for the trouble!

I hate when that happens. Not to be a nudge or anything, but do you have
any idea when that might be?
Support Staff 14 Posted by Fletcher on 01 Aug, 2013 12:27 AM
I'll submit soon, but unfortunately it takes Apple 3-5 days to review?? And there's no way to use iCloud with the App Store for a general release.
So it could take a week to actually be able to download…. I wish I could speed up the approval process...

I've submitted to App Store. I can't make the rest happen any faster. ;)
