Displayed and in-line math

I'm having some trouble getting math to render in the preview (left) window. If I copy the file as LaTeX, the resulting LaTeX is perfectly fine, but I'd like to get the equations to show properly while writing. I'm attaching a screenshot that shows where I copied the same math formulas straight from the syntax guide.

Sorry I meant the *right* window.

    Eddie,

Thanks for writing. It does not appear that you have any link to MathJax in
your document. Did you enable it in the preferences? Without MathJax,
there is no way to apply styling to formulas.

Thanks, Fletcher! Linking to MathJax in the Preferences fixed it. Attaching a screenshot so others can reference.
