Commenting in Criticmarkup

Commenting with criticmarkup (ver 2.4b2 [20]), using command+shift+m results in the following when, for example, trying to make a comment on "historically": "{==Historically==} t**cursor is inserted here without asterisks**his emphasis was upon..."
