Cannot type backticks with 2.3.4

Hello,

I was trying to format some text in monospace fonts, but I cannot type backticks (grave accents) nor circumflex accents for that matter, using the Swiss-French keyboard layout.
It works with the US keyboard, where the accent itself is a key, unlike the Swiss one where it is a dead key (one has to type it twice to get the accent only).
Typing simply does not register. Unchecking smart parenthesis does not change anything either. This is the only application I've seen so far that behaves thus. I know I was able to use them in earlier versions of the application, unfortunately, I did not notice it until now, so I cannot pinpoint from which version on it occurred.
Running 10.8.4.

Hope you find a solution to this.
Cyril

Sorry to reply to my own question, but I searched with too narrow terms before posting, and did not take the time to read other posts before.
I see now that you were aware of the diacritic problem. Feel free to erase my question and this message.
    Thanks
    Cyril

Did you try 2.3.5? Always make sure you use the latest version! ;)

Just saw your second post -- it got sucked up by the spam filter for some reason.

    Anyways, check 2.3.5.

I do not know why the latest version had not yet appeared in the updates in AppStore.
I did try with the latest version (2.3.5) and it works as it should.
Thank you for finding and correcting this bug, even before I noticed it…
And again, sorry for the noise.
