Instructiions for getting MMC non-sandboxed messed things up royally
After deleting the 'receipt" there was no 'buy' at the App Store' just an 'open' link that doesn't work.
What now?

You'll have to be more specific. But I'll tell you that approximately 99% of the time that someone says the instructions didn't work, they didn't follow them properly.
If you're having trouble getting any version to launch, then delete all copies of Composer and then download again from the app store.
But again, if you follow the directions, it works.
Feel free to be more specific about what you did and what isn't working.

Hi Fletcher,
Woo! Hoo! I got it sorted out. I deleted everything andI restarted my
computer. Reinstall the MacAppStore, run the App and then followed the
instructions and all is well. Sorry to trouble you. It was weird. The
problem originated when I had to input my password to launch it. That
seemed to create the problem. So to “fix it” I deleted “everything” and
started from scratch…followed the instructions it all worked it fine.
