Difference in display of Track Changes between 2.8 and 3.0 beta
Using both versions 2.8 and 3.0b39 under OS X 10.11.1
With Critic Markup apparently set up in the same way in Preferences, 3.0b39 shows track changes differently (with "insert automatic comment with CriticMarkup" not ticked), i.e. every addition/deletion also includes the blue chevrons (without date/time or comment). The same setting in 2.8 does not produce the blue chevrons. See the screen shots.
Is this expected behaviour? Is there a way of not showing the blue chevrons?

Yes, the empty "chevrons" is the expected behavior and can't be turned off. This provides consistency that avoids other problems when they sometimes were added and sometimes weren't.
I'm planning on adding some additional features related to CriticMarkup in the Pro version of Composer. Depending on what I do there, I might be able to change this behavior, but no promises.

Thank you for letting me know.
Visually, when editing a file, *not* having the empty chevrons is less distracting.
