I only get a narrow, non-usable, window when I go full screen either from the menu or with the system button on the top left of the window. I'm got the latest Yosemite but I recall it not working before the Yosemite upgrade too. I have MultiMD version 2.7

What's up? See the attached photo.

You set the full screen width too narrow.

    :)

See attached. That's the settings I have now.

Right. So it's doing exactly what you asked -- the window is 80 pixels wide in full screen mode.

    Ah, 80 pixels. I'm old, I thought 80 characters! :-)

So this means the total width so I could have it take up the full width of my retina screen to give me a non-distracting background?

    Thanks

I set it to 900 wide and it looks pretty good for width . The screen is black outside of this area full screen. Is there any way to make it a dull grey? The black is quite distracting with too much reflections. Thanks

You can set the width to whatever (e.g. 10000 would cover any monitor).

It was grey pre-Yosemite, but it looks like Apple does black for Yosemite. I don't believe I can change that.
