making MMC 2.1b2 default application for md files
Hi,
I'm having some trouble making MMC 2.1b2 the default application for opening .md files. When I open the "get info" panel for a .md file, I choose MMC2.1b2 (not the sandboxed appstore MMC) as the default application, then check "change all." I get the confirmation dialog box and click "continue." However, the file then opens instead with the AppStore version--not the 2.1b2 version. The "get info" panel reveals that it has selected the Appstore version as well.
I'm sure this is an OSX issue, or maybe the result of requiring the appstore version to be installed in order to get the 2.1b2 version to work as well. Does anyone know any workarounds?
Thanks!
Derek

Hi Derek-
You don't need the MAS version to run the Beta, you just need to run the MAS version once, and then then Beta will find the license.
So delete the MAS version of MMC. This works for me here. Otherwise, there's no solution to your problem.

Ah, I misunderstood the instructions on the license procedure. I thought MAS and beta had to continue to co-exist. Everything's sorted out now. Thanks!

(Just a quick note to thank you, Charles, for jumping in. You got the right answer out there before I could. This is why I wanted to move to a support forum. Thanks!!!)
But yes, since beta and MAS version share the same application code, it can be tricky for OS X to choose the right one. Delete the MAS version and it should be fine.
