Weight/thickness of fonts in MMC

I have just started using MultiMarkdown Composer (Version 2.1b (2)).

I notice that fonts used in MMC appear thicker than the equivalent in Byword. I prefer using MMC but I find the thickness of the font distracting. I created a screen shot to illustrate the difference bertween the two. I set both programs with Arial 18pt at 200% zoom. For MMC I used the MyWord style by loeffler (only changing the foreground font to try to match the grey used in Byword).

The side-by-side screen shot (also attached) shows that in MMC the font appears thicker:

Is there a setting or change which can alters this? (Apologies if this is not the right place to ask this, but I cannot think of another place to ask this type of question, being new to plain text editors.

Help would be greatly appreciated.

When I compare Composer with TextEdit, I get what appears to be the same font weight. The "problem" appears to be with Byword making fonts thinner, not with Composer making them thicker. (I just did eyeball comparisons on-screen, I did not measure down to the pixel.)

Thank you for letting me know where the problem lies.

Changing the fount to Helvetica-Light provides the answer.
