Long story short -- I rewrote the codebase from scratch to fix some bugs difficult to track down bugs and make it easier to maintain. The new codebase is being used (and tested) in nvUltra (https://nvultra.com/) which Brett Terpstra and I are trying to wrap up and get released.

I have also been working on a new build of Composer using the new codebase alongside development of nvUltra, but it is not ready for public beta testing yet. The good news is that because the two apps share the most complicated pieces of code, most of the core bugs have already been fixed.

If you want to request a refund from Apple, I understand. If you want to check out the nvUltra beta first, go here It will give you an idea of where the core engine stands, though the feature sets between the two apps are not identical.

When MultiMarkdown Composer 5 is released, purchasers of v4 will be able to get some sort of credit for their prior purchase (though the details of this have not been worked out.)

When v5 is ready for beta testing, I also anticipate it will be made available to current owners of v4 first.

Not all of the more advanced features are available yet, but the core stuff is there.

I'll work on this over the next few weeks.

I’d be very happy to participate in β-testing of Composer version 5.
A great idea!!
A manual, or some sort of guiding notes, would be very helpful, in particular mentioning the changes (obvious, or under the bonnet) in comparison to version 4.

Thank you,
There is overlap in the feature set (both involve editing Markdown/MultiMarkdown text files, but there is a different focus between the two.

Fletchertag:support.multimarkdown.com,2013-02-12:Comment/497610022022-03-03T05:09:01Z2022-03-03T05:09:01ZDocument preview does not render with selected CSS

I am starting the process of beta testing Composer 5. You can download the latest build here -- https://s3.amazonaws.com/files.multimarkdown.com/composer5/MMDComposer5-2022-03-02.zip

It's in early beta, so please be sure to protect your data (backups, keep an eye on saved files to make sure all is well, etc.)

As I get a bit further along in the process, I will publicize this more.
