Greetings.

I added a tag to a text file:

****
tags: definition

**Editing** refers to….

****

Every time I exit and start MultiMarkdown Composer, I get an error that my tags are out of sync, but I *d0* have a "definition" tag in macOS.

I have not used the button on the error to add it, but I'm concerned it will create a duplicate.

Am I, as usual, missing the obvious?

That message is telling you that you have MMD metadata tags but no macOS tags set on the file. You can add the "definition" tag to the macOS tags, delete it from the MMD tags, or do nothing. It tells you nothing about which tags have or have not been defined on your computer. It only looks at the current file

So if I had clicked to add the macOS tag, it would only have added “definition” to the file’s Tag field.

Drat! Sorry I didn’t figure that out. I think I assumed I had added that tag to the Tag field when I first saved the file. Obviously not.

    Thank you, Fletcher!

Hope you have a great week!

Correct -- it would have added the macOS tag to the file.
