<p>External content loads in Safari due to stupid rules in Mac App Store. Though it probably doesn't matter, if my web preview allows you to load content from an arbitrary URL, then that changes the age restrictions on the app. Since you could theoretically type a porn URL, and then somehow my app "contains" adult material....</p>
<p>I don't know that I can tweak the WebView behavior so that iframe's are handled differently than any other URLs. Which would mean that disabling iFrames would break all links to absolute URLs, which people do use for testing in Composer.</p>
<p>So I'm not 100% sure I can do much, except perhaps to offer an option to "turn off the internet."</p>

It's used in a new preview engine that is being tested in nvUltra ( <a href="http://nvultra.com">http://nvultra.com</a> ) and will be used in Composer after it undergoes additional testing.</p>
<p>So a fix is on the way!</p>
