and write more tomorrow (Sunday).

I don't think you sent me the files you meant to. The text you sent
has 12 top-level list items, but only 4 sublist items (where the last
item appears to have some run-on items inside it??). Or perhaps the
original file was improperly formatted, leading to an unexpected result
when you ran the full cleanup command??

Working with what you sent, everything seems to work properly,
whether I select the whole document, part of outer list, part of inner list.

Toggling inner or outer list types works properly.

Perhaps you can verify the document you sent? And then verify you are
using a recent version of Composer?

Fletcher

Fletchertag:support.multimarkdown.com,2013-02-12:Comment/454824772018-06-19T00:36:33Z2018-06-19T00:36:37ZCleanup Selected Lists (or Full Cleanup) Doesn't Work as Expected

Is toggle list type suppose to toggle inner lists? when I select everything?

It looks like the "Cleanup List" messed up my formatting in my "cleanup before" ... so it probably doesn't make sense. I guess I didn't catch that. That's one of the bugs ... it did some kind of destructive operation and I lost that original text from the demo file. It was a correctly formatted bullet list, as far as I'm aware.

I had copy/pasted an excerpt to play around with in my sample file. But I don't have the original in the same state any more to test it.

I created a video explaining my problem, I'm not sure how to reproduce it. It seems to be when I'm copy/pasting sections and moving/indenting and writing my articles. That I run into situations where I want to switch from bullets to numbers (or vice versa).

(Audio might be loud ... not sure why)

Paul Solttag:support.multimarkdown.com,2013-02-12:Comment/454824772018-06-19T00:57:36Z2018-06-19T00:57:36ZCleanup Selected Lists (or Full Cleanup) Doesn't Work as Expected

Toggling lists affects the level you selected. If you want to toggle
multiple levels within a list, you have to do them separately. (I have
to pick one way or the other, and either will be wrong for some
purposes. But if sublists are automatically toggled, there is no way to
just toggle the outer level. So this seems like the "least wrong" way
to do it. I could theoretically add a "toggle lists and sublists"
command, but at some point it just leads to a ridiculous UI like
Microsoft Word...)

Obviously I can't know for sure without a time machine, but based on
what I see in the original "before" text you sent, my suspicion is that
you had incorrect syntax in the inner list items (for example, "7.." and
"6.6,"). Those would not have been identified as list markers, and therefore would be rolled into the preceding paragraph (list item 5 in
this case). Those would have been unlikely changes to have been created
by the clean up code based on how it works.

The only thing I don't immediately understand is why those two areas do
not have any whitespace in front of them (unless you copied from Word
which sent non-Mac invisible characters or alternate line break
characters, perhaps??)

If you see another problem with it, please Undo the changes and send me
the original text before clean up so I can look to see what might have
caused the problem.

I'll try and capture issues the next time I write an article. ... I just posted my blog post, thanks for the great Markdown tool!

It's over 3500 words plus links. Multimarkdown Composer was great to use to write the initial draft!

Paul Solttag:support.multimarkdown.com,2013-02-12:Comment/454824772018-06-20T15:57:26Z2018-06-20T15:57:26ZCleanup Selected Lists (or Full Cleanup) Doesn't Work as Expected

Congrats on completing the post!

Fletchertag:support.multimarkdown.com,2013-02-12:Comment/454824772018-07-16T16:37:12Z2018-07-16T16:37:14ZCleanup Selected Lists (or Full Cleanup) Doesn't Work as Expected

Ok, I'm in the middle of a new article and I've got my outline/notes, and I'm trying to clean up the lists (fix numbering).

Video: https://www.useloom.com/share/9a42b664b6904473b8f14806ff5e35c6

Actual: When I select and try to clean up this list, it destroys my content. I've created a before/after, and I'll include my current work in progress notes.

Expected: I should see the outer list re-numbered 1-11, but it deletes some of the text, and incorrectly numbers, and puts numbers on ends of lines.

It looks like the last 2 characters (3 characters with newline) are chopped, is this related to having a number in the lists?

Paul Solttag:support.multimarkdown.com,2013-02-12:Comment/454824772018-07-17T01:40:41Z2018-07-17T01:40:41ZCleanup Selected Lists (or Full Cleanup) Doesn't Work as Expected

Thanks for sending me the example. I can replicate the behavior this
time.

I'll look into why as soon as I can -- had a family emergency pop up
that has thrown my schedule for a loop. But deleting numbers inside the
list items does not change the behavior, so that's not the problem.

Thanks again for the sample file!!
