double-click selects paragraph

I'm on High Sierra
When I double-click to select a word it selects the entire paragraph. If I then click again it deselects. Double-click after then selects the word.

This function works normally/correctly in Scrivener on the same system.

I've never seen that and can't reproduce it.

Did it persist after your logout from the other issue?

It must be another High Sierra glitch. Another app is doing the same thing.

Once the cursor is in a word, a second single click selects the word. A
    double-click anywhere selects the paragraph.

I can't reproduce. Triple click has "always" selected paragraph in macOS (not sure how far back that goes.) Double click for word.

Perhaps you are not pausing long enough and what you think is a double click is actually a triple click? I thought there used to be settings to control double click speed, but I only have a track pad and can't check mouse preferences any more.

In any event, that is OS behavior, not Composer behavior.

yes, it's an OS behavior. I'm using an experimental configuration and it
must be either dropping or doubling-up the clicks. I'm looking into it.

    Hi,

It would be really helpful if the context menu included the normal copy
and paste functions in addition to the existing ones that I almost need.
I am so habituated to finding copy and paste that it is a major
distraction to realize that I have to put down the mouse and grab the
keyboard (which I hold in my left hand while I type with the right). It
distracted me enough that I stopped writing to compose this message.

    Thanks,

    Dan
