<p>You can't change the paragraph spacing per se, but you can

line height which changes the spacing between all lines. With a

line between paragraphs, it exaggerates the difference.</p>
<p>Experiment with the setting in the "Appearance" preferences, and

you can modify a style sheet with your preferred number.</p>

It's not good form to put two newlines just to get greater vertical spacing. This typography ought to be controlled by the layout engine without hacks like that. This is the case in LaTeX, HTML, Word, Pages, InDesign, and in the text editor Bear.<br>
