Syntax highlighting refresh gets "confused"

Users of MultiMarkdown Composer v3 may be aware that during development of the syntax highlighting engine, I used a test configuration that actual confirmed each refresh with a complete reparse of the entire document. In short documents, this was still faster than v2, but for long documents it became quite slow. The technique was effective, however, and helped me to find (and fix!!) edge cases that I would have never found on my own.

The v4 highlighting engine works in a different way. In general, it is more accurate from the start, but there are still a few edge cases that don't work. When this happens, the highlighting on the screen doesn't match the preview.

  1. There's nothing wrong with your document -- it's just styled differently.

  2. This doesn't affect any other features -- just syntax highlighting.

  3. I'm aware of this and am experimenting with different fixes that balance performance with accuracy. Until I choose an approach, I don't need any additional bug reports at the moment. I'll let you know when I do. For now, I'm trying to avoid having to go back to the dual parsing validity checking.

  4. If you want to fix it, Select All -> Cut -> Paste will refresh the entire document and get things back on track.

Improved in build 4.0b19. Let me know if you find problems that can be reproduced!
